Volunteering

Volunteering is a wonderful way to give-back to your local community and offers you the opportunity to develop new skills that could lead to a whole new career.

You may have some spare time due to redundancy or following retirement. Or you might be thinking about a change of direction and want to expand your set of skills.

Helping others is incredibly rewarding and a fantastic way to meet new people. You could help someone get back on their feet after leaving hospital, assist in a care home or offer your existing expertise in areas like hairdressing or fundraising.

The range of opportunities are endless, here are some examples of ways that you can help:

  • Helping people with shopping
  • Activity buddy
  • Outings companion
  • Day centre helper
  • Administrative support for charities

Benefits of volunteering:

  • Builds confidence
  • Learn new skills
  • Gain valuable experience
  • A gateway back into employment
  • Helping others achieve an independent and fulfilling life.

Volunteering is also incredibly flexible, so any spare time you have which you can use to help someone is always greatly appreciated.
