I’ve worked in care for 2 years now having decided that I wanted to do something more rewarding than my previous job in a supermarket.
Growing up I always got on well with older people and I’ve often been told I have a caring nature which is why I wanted to see how this job could work for me.
The residents have been so welcoming and the training has really helped me develop both my skills and confidence.
One of the things I love about this job is taking the residents on trips such as afternoon tea, a pub lunch or to go and see a panto. Helping them to do something they really love makes me feel I’m doing a good job.
I guess being a young guy working in care is a bit different, but it works for me and my friends think it’s kind of cool that I get to help people every day!
