Tracey, Registered Manager
When I left school I never thought I’d work in care and had set my sights on a more glamorous career which has included working as a cocktail waitress on cruise ships, a Playboy Bunny in London and an Estate Agent.
It wasn’t until I was 46 that I decided I wanted to change direction and realised that I could make a career out of care. I’m proud that I’ve been a carer whose now a Manager and I really want to help raise the profile of working in care and the important work people in care do every day.
This job motivates me to constantly review and improve what we do to ensure standards are kept as high as possible for the people we look after.
Whoever you are and whatever you do I believe there are always transferable skills to working in care. It’s a sociable job, where team working is essential and you can get a lot from it both personally and professionally.
