About Caer Gwent

Caer Gwent combines superb residential living with 24-hour expert nursing care, supporting individuals with complex health conditions, particularly focusing on palliative (i.e. end of life) support.

Our home has a high staff-to-resident ratio, with a versatile team built around residents’ needs. As well providing around-the-clock nursing care, we have dedicated Health & Wellbeing Coordinators who deliver regular and stimulating activities catered to individuals’ interests.

The role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Care Supervisor to join the team at Caer Gwent. You will be responsible for managing the shift and deploying Care Assistants based on residents’ needs across assigned areas. By developing and implementing Care Plans, as well as by sharing your personal examples of good care, you will encourage the highest standard of care within the care team.

You will need previous experience of supervising others and the ability to keep Medication competency up to date. A commitment to continuing professional development is also a requirement for this position. The role comprises of part-time Senior Care hours and Care Supervisor hours.

Job description


Experience of supervising others
The post holder must be able to provide a satisfactory DBS check
The ability to keep Medication competency up to date
Committed to continuous professional development

Health and Safety qualification
Qualification in care QCF (NVQ Level 3) or be willing to work towards
First Aid in the Workplace qualification
Previous experience in Dementia Care/demonstrates awareness in Dementia
