The role

We are looking for a Driver to work as part of the transport team, you will be flexible and support with driving our Minibuses transporting people in the community to different services. You will also be driving our vans to support with transporting goods from our donation centre and collecting furniture from people’s homes.

You will require a full and clean driving license which includes Category D1 or PCV with no more than 3 penalty points.

We are looking for someone with a clean driving licence and able to carry out heavy lifting. You must have good customer service skills. Experience of furniture collections, deliveries and transporting people are desirable. You must be able to drive a Luton Van as part of the role.

Job description


To be presentable, polite, reliable and able to remain calm in a crisis
Knowledge of UK driving legislation and ability to follow the Highway Code
Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with a range of people including customers, relatives and staff
Basic literacy and numeracy skills
Ability to maintain customer confidentiality and maintain appropriate professional boundaries
Ability to work well as part of a team and to drive with minimal supervision
A willingness to undertake a minibus driving assessment and essential training
A full UK / EU / EEA driving license, which includes Category D1 or PCV with no more than 3 penalty points.
A minimum of three years driving experience and be aged 21+
To inform the Transport Manager of any endorsements or amendments to your driving license
The post holder must be able to provide a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Check
Clean Driving licence

Good knowledge of the local area and ability to travel throughout Worthing and Adur, and on occasions throughout West Sussex
Knowledge and understanding of the needs of older people including people with dementia and/or people with learning disabilities
