Up to 35-40 Hours per week, covering 7 days a week, Opportunity to job share or work full-time

Guild Care opened its first charity shop more than 40 years ago. We now have 11 charity shops selling a wide variety of items including second-hand and new furniture, vintage clothes, bric-a-brac, books and children’s toys. Money raised from the charity shops goes towards running our vital community services for people of all ages.

You will deputise for the Shop Manager in their absence and provide full holiday cover as required.

We are opening more stores in Sussex initially into Crawley and Horsham with vacancies in all positions to stores opening soon. This will be an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing team.

You will assist the Shop Manager in achieving set income budget and maximising scales, as well as assist in the day-to-day operation of the shop.

You will help manage and promote the Charity Shop to ensure it remains profitable, well-known and well regarded and to assist in raising the profile of Guild Care throughout the town.

Job Requirements

Essential

The post holder must be literate and numerate
To have a flexible attitude to work
To have the ability to undertake reasonable lifting duties
To demonstrate good organisation and planning skills
The post holder must be able to provide a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service
Desirable

Experience of working with volunteers
Experience of handling cash
Experience of Charity shop sector
Experience of working towards targets
Basic IT skills
Supervisory or managerial skills
