Senior Care Assistants

The Old Malthouse is a residential home that specialises in Dementia and is situated in Selsey, Nr Chichester.

We are looking for Care Assistants to join our loyal and dedicated group of staff.  We have full or part time hours available


The Client

The provision and delivery of direct care to all clients in accordance with individual care plans
Assist residents in all aspects of daily living, monitor health status and report relevant information to the Manager / Deputy Manager.
Monitor and take responsibility for meal times, ensuring that the residents have a good diet and fluids.  Encourage the residents to eat in the dining room and to join in the social function of meals.
Ensure that the resident’s rooms, clothing and personal belongings are maintained in good condition and that the residents have suitable clothing.  .
To assist in the laundering of clothing, linens etc
Assist residents in maintaining hair care, nail care, chiropody, etc on a regular basis
Assist in the standard of cleanliness and tidiness in the Home, including cupboards, commodes, bathrooms and individual residents rooms
Ensure that all residents, family members and friends are treated with respect, maintaining dignity, privacy and individuality of each resident
Maintain client confidentiality at all times
The Staff

Undertake induction and other training as identified by the Manager
Assist the Manager/Deputy Manager to maintain effective communication and promote good working relationships
Help maintain staff morale, develop good communication and interpersonal relationships within the Home

Recognise your own limitations and training needs, seek advice and support from senior staff.  Take an active role in the training sessions offered to you.
Attend staff meetings as requested by the Manager
Adhere to Company policies, practices and procedures
Health & Safety

Be aware of the fire policy and attend at least two Fire Training presentations a year
Be aware of COSHH regulations
Identify general mechanical problems within the Home, report faults and defects in equipment.
Ensure that you use the correct equipment safely and that you are competent.
You are required to enforce the Health & Safety policy of the Home
