This friendly, well-established service meets the needs of five tenants with a learning disability who are very independent but also require a degree of support. All the clients have varied and active lives at home and in the community, and you will support the clients to maintain their skills and activities as well as learning new ones. As experienced practitioners, Senior Support Workers act as a role model to the team and support the manager in delivering an excellent standard of service provision.
The main aspects of the work involve:
Role modelling good practice to the team of support workers, emphasising person centred active support and warm communication.
Supporting staff and giving feedback
Supporting the manager with administrative tasks including updating computer-based records and systems.
Do you have:
Significant experience of supporting people with learning disabilities including behaviours that challenge
Good organisational skills
Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
Some supervisory experience
